Tennessee State University Forensics Team Garners Second Place in the Nation

NASHVILLE (TSU News Service) –Members of the Tennessee State University forensics team traveled to Austin, Texas January 14-15 to take part in the thirteenth annual Hell Froze Over Tournament hosted by Bradley University and the University of Texas at Austin. TSU placed second in the nation as a team in a field of more than 40 schools, including George Mason University, Florida State University, Rice University and Texas A&M.

According to Kimberly LaMarque, associate professor in the Department of Communications and director of the forensics team, this win only proves that the University’s program rivals that of many of the top forensics teams such as last year’s nationals champs, Western Kentucky University, and pushed the total number of awards won this academic year to 240.
