TSU Alumnus Highlight: Rodney Stokes

Stokes returns home as banquet speaker

A Dalton native who once worked for the Dalton Parks and Recreation Department — and is now the director of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources — will be the keynote speaker at the Concerned Citizens of Dalton Celebrating History Banquet on Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Dalton Community Center.

Rodney Stokes grew up working at the Dalton Community Center and recreation became his life’s work, current Community Center Director Tony Pinson said.

Mr. Stokes earned his bachelor of arts degree in recreation administration from Tennessee State University and his masters degree in parks and recreation resources from Michigan State University.
