Bank exec favors the bold look
Georgette “Gigi” Dixon, 51, was born in Dover, Del., and moved to Long Island, N.Y., and Greenville, S.C., with her military family. She graduated from Tennessee State University with a bachelor’s in speech communication and theater, and was recruited by Procter & Gamble. “I didn’t plan to go into corporate America, but my dad talked me into trying it out, and here I am,” she laughs.
Dixon was hired into the marketing department of First Union in 1994. Today she is a senior vice president in the Social Responsibility Group at Wells Fargo. Dixon also chairs the board of Opera Carolina and is a member of Women Executives, The Charlotte Links and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She and her husband, Malcolm, have two grown children.
