3rd Installment TSU 100 Healthy Tips

Hey Alums,

The illustrious, elegant and soulful Jada Right is gracing 28&J with her wisdom on getting and staying healthy for the 100. There are 3 weeks left for the 100.

Before we know it, the highly anticipated Tennessee State University Centennial Celebration will be upon us.  Certainly, we all want to be at our absolute best in every aspect of our lives, as we re-visit the “Land of Golden Sunshine”.  Listed below are just a few of many ways that you can improve your nutrition, build your immune system, lose weight, save money, go green, and invest in our beloved institution, so that you can celebrate this Tiger Life in 2012 and beyond.  Researchers say it takes anywhere between 30 and 90 days to create a habit. Select a few of these to create a habit of excellence, in time for Homecoming Week.

41. Increase Omega 3’s with fish or flax seed oil

42. Increase vitamin D-3

43. Go to the doctor, dentist and dietician

44. Be gracious and grateful

45. Pack your lunch

46. Decrease coffee consumption

47. Get plenty of sleep with lights, TV, phone and computer off and out of reach

48. Meditate

49. Stretch with yoga or Pilates

50. Join your local alumni chapter, then take a Tiger to the next meeting

51. Be present

52. Be persistent

53. Do 4- 15 minute workouts everyday

54. Ride a bike

55. Hula Hoop

56. Eat a balanced breakfast

57. Surround yourself with healthy snacks

58. Run in place

59. Participate in a charity 5K

60. Know your numbers: blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol
