Search Process for a New President at Tennessee State University
The Tennessee Board of Regents will begin the process of searching for a permanent president at Tennessee State University in May 2012. The presidential search process will follow the basic outlines of all TBR searches (see presidential search FAQs ), although every search is somewhat different.
May 2012 – The Tennessee Board of Regents will engage a search firm to attract a strong pool of applicants from across the country. The search firm will advertise the position and begin generating leads for applicants.
August 2012 – The search committee will be named when faculty, staff and students have returned to the campus for fall semester.
October 2012 – The TBR’s goal is to have a new, permanent president selected by the end of October.
January 2013 – The tentative date for the permanent president to take office.
