Remembering TSU Alum Sarah Moore Greene: Civil-rights pioneer, educator was 102

Sarah Moore Greene, one of Knoxville’s most influential civil-rights advocates and community leaders, died Wednesday after a long illness. She was 102.

Ms. Greene, a career educator, touched hundreds of lives directly through her teaching — and even more later as a civil-rights proponent, elected official and revered community elder.
