Getting to know Edward Waters College Football

Yes, We are playing Edward Waters College for The John Merritt Classic. Here is a little bit about them.

They are based in Jacksonville, Florida and have roughly 900 students. EWC recently restarted their football program in 2001 and joined the NAIA. EWC just joined the Sun Conference this year and are picked to finish 4th.

The Coach: Alvin Wyatt creator of the Wyatt Bone and very flashy sideline attire.

Coach Wyatt claim to fame was resurrecting the Bethune Cookman Wildcats football program. He coached there from 1997- 2009 with his terrorizing offensive scheme. The Wyatt Bone offense is pretty much run left, run right, run up the middle, and press repeat all day long.

He took over the Edward Waters program in December 2013.

The Team

EWC just recently beat down University of Faith in convincing fashion. 65 to 10.

One of their key players is RB Ray Dukes who was named a Preseason NAIA All American.

Here is the rest of their roster.

According to this, their line is pretty much the same size as ours. They have two offensive lineman that are 6″6′ and weigh above 315 and they also have 3 massive defensive lineman that weigh over 300 lbs.
