The illustrious, elegant and soulful Jada Right is gracing 28&J with her wisdom on getting and staying healthy for the 100. There are 5 weeks left for the 100. We will have a special feature of this every week. Here is the first installment….
Before we know it, the highly anticipated Tennessee State University Centennial Celebration will be upon us. Certainly, we all want to be at our absolute best in every aspect of our lives, as we re-visit the “Land of Golden Sunshine”. Listed below are just a few of many ways that you can improve your nutrition, build your immune system, lose weight, save money, go green, and invest in our beloved institution, so that you can celebrate this Tiger Life in 2012 and beyond. Researchers say it takes anywhere between 30 and 90 days to create a habit. Select a few of these to create a habit of excellence, in time for Homecoming Week.

2. Eat more green leafy vegetables and steam them
3. Stop smoking
4. Eliminate sugary drinks
5. Eat whole grains
6. If you must east fast foods, DO NOT supersize
7. Wash your hands
8. Laugh
10. Thank a teacher
11. Park at least 15 spaces from entrance, when it’s safe
12. Pray
13. Use free weights over machines
14. Join a gym
15. Walk more
16. Take African, Middle Eastern or Ballroom dancing
17. Wear shades
18. Make social outings fitness, rather than food related
19. Support local arts and athletics
20. Breathe… slowly
